Privacy notice template for Publisher Sites
Version: 2026-10-14
In short
If you use the Readerr Player on your site, your visitors should know what it does. Below is a short paragraph you can add to your own privacy policy, in English and in Polish. It describes the facts: where the files come from, what the Player sends after someone presses play, and how long we keep it. You stay the controller of this data; we are your processor under our Data Processing Agreement.
How to use this template
Paste the paragraph into your privacy policy, in the section where you describe third-party services, analytics or embedded content. Keep the Player's AI label visible on your site: the Terms do not allow you to remove, hide or weaken it. This is a template, not legal advice, so adapt it to your site and have it checked, in particular the text in square brackets. The template states a legitimate interest as the legal basis for measuring listening. Data protection authorities read the rules on access to information on a user's device broadly, and some may consider that a script sending listening events needs the visitor's consent even though nothing is stored on the device. The listening statistics are part of the Player and cannot be switched off for a single site, so decide with your adviser whether your consent banner should cover them.

Audio versions of articles (Readerr)
Some of our articles can be listened to as audio. The audio player is provided by Readerr (IT Busters Marcin Rybak, Poland), which acts as our processor. The text of the article is converted to speech using AI, and the player labels the audio as AI-generated.
The player script loads from Readerr's content delivery network, operated by Cloudflare, when you open the page. The audio file loads from the same network only after you press play. To deliver these files, the network processes your IP address and information about your browser.
After you press play, the player sends listening events to Readerr that contain no identifier of you or your device: that playback started and that 25%, 50%, 75% and 95% of the recording were played, together with the audio file, its language, the article and our site's address. We use them to measure how our articles are listened to. The player does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device. Your IP address is not stored with these events. Individual events are kept for 3 months; after that, only daily totals are kept.
The legal basis for measuring listening is our legitimate interest in [PUBLISHER: describe your interest, for example understanding which articles are listened to].
